Touring South America
From venue:
When you think of South American wine, what first comes to mind? For many, it's Mendoza, and Argentina's beloved expression of the Malbec grape. For some, it's the deep valleys of Chile with a range of grapes from Chardonnay to Cabernet Sauvignon, and lesser know wines like País. With wine making dating back to the 16th Century, there's no shortage of wine history in South America - encompassing both internationally acclaimed and lesser known varieties. In this class, we'll discuss geography, how altitude plays a role in grape growing, classic varietals and regions, wine laws in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and more.
Class will be held in the Maker's Studio in Chelsea Market, tucked behind Eat Offbeat, just past elevator #1. Enter through the center concourse of the Market, or from 16th Street through the designated Maker's Studio door.
Join us at the bar for a glass of wine and dinner the day of class and receive 10% off your check.
Live wine classes are led by Corkbuzz Sommeliers and last 90 minutes. Class includes 6 (2 ounce) pours of wine, printed materials, and complimentary cheese. Guests will be seated at communal tables. Please refrain from wearing heavy fragrances to class.
