Eastern Europe

From venue:

Instructor: Vitali
Thousands of years before Burgundy, Rioja, and Tuscany were growing grapes, way before Greeks and Romans acquired a taste for fermented grape juice, wine-making flourished in Eastern Europe. The Communist rule did great damage to the wine culture of the area, and it is the main reason why Eastern European wines don’t have the same presence on the market as the wines of Italy, France, etc. Most of the countries are reviving the long-forgotten winemaking traditions, replanting indigenous grapes that were almost lost, and making wine the way it always meant to be: unique, honest, and delicious. In this class, we’ll be tasting 4 different wines from legendary regions that deserve much more attention than they currently get.
